PLENARY ASSEMBLY

The annual meeting is the Plenary Assembly, attended by the Presidents of the thirty-three Bishops’ Conferences of Europe, the six Bishops not belonging to any Bishops’ Conferences and the Presidents of the CCEE Commissions

The Prefect of the Congregation for Bishops, the President and Secretary General of COMECE, the Apostolic Nuncio to the European Union and the Special Rapporteur-Permanent Observer of the Holy See to the Council of Europe in Strasbourg are also invited to attend the Plenary Assembly.

The Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem and the President of the Episcopal Conference of Kazakhstan have the status of permanent guests.

Occasionally, the CCEE Presidency may invite the Presidents or representatives of other continental bishops’ bodies, such as SECAM-SCEAM (Africa), CELAM (Latin America), FABC (Asia) and FCBCO (Oceania).
