Monika Klimentová
Born in Zlín in the Czech Republic, she obtained a Licentiate in Social Communication in 2008 at the Faculty of Institutional Social Communication of the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross in Rome.
From 2008 to 2010 she worked as a spokesperson for the Archbishopric of Olomouc.
She was responsible for the media coverage of Pope Benedict XVI’s visit to the Czech Republic in 2009. In 2010 she joined the Press Office of the Czech Bishops’ Conference, where she worked until 2012. In 2018 she returned to the Czech Bishops’ Conference as a spokesperson and head of the Press Office.
In October 2023 she was called to join the International Communications team for the first session of the XVI Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops.
She is involved in various professional and charitable activities. She speaks Czech, Slovak, English and Italian, (and she has a basic knowledge of German and Russian).
Since 1 November 2024 she is the Press Officer of the Council of the European Bishops’ Conferences (CCEE).
