Istanbul, Turkey, 5-6 March 2016
On Sunday, March 5, in Istanbul His Eminence Cardinal Angelo Bagnasco, President of the CCEE (Council of European Bishops’ Conferences) will participate, in the Cathedral of St. George in the Phanar, to the Divine Liturgy presided over by His Holiness Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople, which he will meet afterwards.
Are also members of the CCEE delegation that will accompany Cardinal Bagnasco, His Eminence Cardinal Péter Erdő, Archbishop of Esztergom-Budapest, former president of the CCEE (2006-2016) and Mons. Duarte da Cunha, CCEE Secretary General.
In the evening the delegation will meet the President of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Turkey, His Grace Msgr Lévon Zekiyan, Archbishop of the Istanbul’s Archieparchy of the Armenians.
On Monday morning, March 6, the delegation will meet the Apostolic Vicar of the Latins in Istanbul, S.E. Msgr. Tierrablanca Gonzales, after celebrating Mass in the Cathedral of the Vicariate.
